can we have cocktails???

Hey - if it's something to relax you - try a Stohli Cosmo! One of my instructors turned me on to it at a "Thank You" party at the end of our class season - Two sips and I couldn't feel my nose or lips - after I finished the drink (which comes in a martini glass) I went to the Ladies room - - only to find I had walked into the mens room!!!!! They're great! (The cosmos - not the mens room!)

can we have cocktails???

I'm in the wine business, so wine is an everyday event in my life. I was advised no alcohol for two weeks prior to surgery and no aspirin. As mentioned earlier, they are blood thinners.

As I said, I have wine everyday, in fact I am having a glass of champagne as I write this *hic*. So, it was a bit of a pain to not consume (especially at the early Bday party a threw myself two days before surgery where all of my guests drank wine and I drank sparkling Pomegranate juice....the party was at one of my accounts...a wine shop!!!)

I also did not consume wine for three weeks post surgery as I was on pain meds for part of that.

My Dr. did tell me that I could have one glass of champagne at my party, but I know me, it's like the Lays potato chip commercial..."You can have only one!" LOL!

can we have cocktails???

A quick "post note". My DH, (believe it or not a physician...), offered to bring me a glass of wine during one of my two days in the hospital (TAH/BSO); That was the LAST THING THAT appealed to me, but I (as he knew) was "used" to a glass of wine at dinner. Being a neurologist, he NOW is trying to help me (nearly 4 weeks post op) with headaches and insomnia (probably due to the Climara patch)... but he has a challenge.. , NOT that I COUNT on him for my MEDICAL problems, just my DH needs.....( or if I should have a stoke or "something: becomes numb".... BUT, is ANYONE else on Climara, experiencing headaches and insomnia.
Thanks

no drinking

Well all, I have decided not to drink but my family doc did prescribe a few diazipam. Much better than the alcohol. I did not need to thin my blood or get dehydrated even though they always say I have great veins. So only lots of water for me and I will be a good girl!
