Burn or scrape feeling?

Does anyone have a pain from belly that feels like you had a burn or scrap?

Burn or scrape feeling?

My surgery was in April and I am still having that irritating pain. It's moving down my belly. It was at my belly button to begin with and now it's almost to where my incision was. I think it is the nerves regenerating or something. It helps to wear compression either a light weight girdle or even tummy control panty hose helped me. I found even tight pants felt better than loose at times.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this but it's quite common, I'm afraid, especially with an abdominal incision. I remember it only too well!

Have you found our <link> Post-Op Page yet? It's packed with information for your recovery, including an article on this very subject.

Sending all good wishes as you continue to heal!

Re: Burn or scrape feeling?

I experience this periodically. My doctor said it's normal and caused by the rebuilding of nerves.

Re: Burn or scrape feeling?

I had my surgery on May 11th and everything was fine but about 2/3 weeks ago I have been feeling this sharp pain/burning sensation right below my abdominal incision on the left side and it hurts and burns like crazy. I called my doctor and she said it is either a muscle or ligament that got pulled but it is taking forever to get rid or that pain, sometimes it almost goes away for a couple of days or hours and then back again. My question is also, when is it going to go away!

I have also been taking Aleve. It seems to take the edge off.
