Post op feelings, is this normal?

It has been one week since my hysterectomy. I had one of my ovaries removed. I feel nothing......I'm not sad, angry or happy. I feel this normal? I thought I would be upset but I'm not.

Re: Post op feelings, is this normal?

It's normal for you!!! Sounds like you are doing well so far and thats GREAT! Don't be surprised if you start having other emotions surface, but for now enjoy not riding the emotional !

Continue to rest, rest, rest!

Re: Post op feelings, is this normal?

I was that way too.

I think everyone is different and some are very emotional right away and others take longer. I did get a bit weepy around week 4 when I had some issues with bleeding and my granuloma. Now it feels like I have evened out and maybe my 1 ovary is getting it's "feet" back under it.

Re: Post op feelings, is this normal?

You are definitely normal. The first few weeks are just exhausting with all the recovery and meds and anesthesia leaving the body. I felt a bit numb at first too.

Thank you all for the support! Well....the "feelings" showed up this week. Mostly sadness and anger. But I am taking it one day at a time!
