5 Days Post Op Hysterectomy Pain and Bruising TAH BSO

Hi Ladies
I am home 5 days post op and today I am seeing a lot more bruising and pain where the abdominal bruising is. Is this normal?

I had so much bruising on my tummy that the nurse were stunned. It covered my entire abdomin.
I also had a lot of pain until my staples came out. Once the bruising disappeared, the pain got less also. I put ice and heat to help the pain. Have you stopped your meds, as you want to stay ahead of the pain. If you feel not good about it, maybe a trip,to the doc is in order.

I would take some arnica it's great for expelling the bruising quicker allowing you to heal.

I had a TAH on the 21st and my experience was about the same. It seemed like the bruising got worse right as I was expecting it to start to clear. I even have a huge (about the size of a quarter) bruise right under the center of my incision that turned black. I was worried but kept an eye on it and it never hurt or spread, and started to fade in a couple of days. Most of the bruises were purple, green, and yellow. I have a photo from day 5 post-op that I sent to my friend with the caption "I'm a rainbow!"

I'm now 10 days post-op and the bruising is much improved but my skin feels extremely sensitive. Any little touch stings and burns. I thought I'd be out of the mesh panties by now but it's nice having a breathable barrier between my skin and my pajama pants.

Thanks I was worried I am doing too much. I'm not doing much but light cooking and I put some laundry away. Recovery is going to be an uphill challenge I see.
