Sex is painful

I bought the Astroglide at Kroger's.

Relief Seeker, I am embarassed to say my surgery was in March and I still have not had tried. Actually we tried once and it wouldn't go in...LOL. Very Very dry.

Zoey, I swear by that Pur (eros) stuff. Amazing. Also, some romance before, even and hour or two without kids, etc., is very helpful.. And if you try all this and you still ahve trouble, tell your doc. If Physical therapy turns out to be an option for you, better to find out earlier than later!

I have not had my six week check up yet, so have not been cleared, but I am terrified. I think that I will have a few glasses of wine to help relax me and hope all goes well. My DH will be very careful as he is always worried about hurting me, but...I am in the same boat as the rest of you as far as being terrified goes.

A little wine would be good, but not to where you do damage you don't really feel til later. It's a fine line. ;-)

Relief Seeker - is that the same as Pjur? That's what Google's throwing up when I put in 'pur eros'. Same stuff, yes?

I would think it's the same. If they have the eros line, then it's definitely it. It's expensive but a little goes a long way. Love your dancing banana by the way.

My surgery was 12/08. I found sex to be different than pre-op in that things need to start out slow to allow body to adjust. With having a vaginal cuff d/t cervix gone, area ia a little smaller and you need time to allow muscles to relax and accept your partner. I just had to have cuff incision cauterized d/t bleeding & discomfort with sex. MD said might need it again if recurs. That was not pleasant! She said good size area, to my right side, of incision was not granulated. Gave it 5days to heal then tried again; No bleeding or discomfort

I too have experienced painful intercourse postop (my surgery was May 6), but I can say it is getting better with time. The part that concerns me is that you are saying it is painful even with foreplay. Is it from dryness or just being touched hurts? You could call your doctor, they are used to these kinds of questions and could reassure you that nothing is actually wrong. At first I was nervous and I think fear made it worse (the pain), so mostly I am just trying to relax.

I just had my six week post op visit and dr said that the stitches at the vaginal cuff are still red and swollen so he has recommended to abstain another two weeks.

By contrast, we are acting like a couple of ***** kids who are trying not to "do it".. ha ha.. lots of fooling around and "no's" and "stop thats".. hee hee.. It definitely has been fun in a way although it is frustrating! And boy, does it bring back some old memories of being young and a "good girl".. LOL.. now i hope it doesn't feel like the first time either when the time actually does arrive!!
