Pain left groin, 10 days post-op

I had a total hysterectomy ten days ago. They took my uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes, but left my ovaries. I am having pain in my lower left groin, right where my leg joint starts. Is this normal pain? I worry that it might be a blood clot, but I feel like I am just being dramatic. This whole experience has been overwhelming for me!
(Also had a desmoid tumor removed from abdominal lower quadrant after hysterectomy)

Re: Pain left groin, 10 days post-op

If one other person with the same sensations counts as 'normal' then yes you're normal.

And thanks for saying that about not wanting to be dramatic, the line between 'reporting' and 'not being tough enough' is really hard to know.

My husband took me to a salon to have my hair done and even sitting in a chair and not walking more than in and out of the salon I was super surprised to be hurting. I've been moving around the house pretty freely without much sensation. But going out made a difference. He was wondering if it was the jarring of the car, but it was just a normal road. I was hoping to be back at work the 14th, not sure sure now. I'm usually pretty tough.

Re: Pain left groin, 10 days post-op

Don't worry about being dramatic. If you suspect a blood clot, call your doctor. Your doctor's answering service should be able to reach him or her. If you can't reach your doctor you could call the ER and ask to speak to the doctor on call. Be sure to mention your recent surgery. It may not be a clot, but if it is you need immediate attention.

Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Pain left groin, 10 days post-op

I have had 2 ultrasounds on my legs to check for blood clots since my surgery. I don't think its being dramatic to make sure your health is 100% ok. A blood clot is not something to play around with. No one knows your body better than you. I hope everything goes well.
