Itchy & Scratchy!! Anyone else have the itchy/scratches?

It's three weeks now and I have the itchy scratches so bad!! I had the courage to remove all my steri-strips and my incision looks great, it just itches like crazy and one of the things on my post-op list is no powders or lotions. Powder I understand because that can cause an infection, but I don't understand the lotion thing. I will have to wait until next week at my 4 week post-op to ask my doc so I thought I would check in with my Sisters. I know when I had a breast surgery I was allowed to put on special scar creams and one that you paint on like nail polish to help diminish scars. It worked really well, and I was putting it on right away (after the steri-strips were off). I would even be happy to be able to just use some nice shea butter on it because it is terribly dry. Does anyone else have this, and can or have you used any lotions?? I know it's a good sign that I am healing, and I also have the nerve sensations every now and then. I get burning pains and sometimes prickly stabbing sensations, not very painful but makes me hopeful because I never did get the feeling back around my breasts where the incisions were made, still totally numb and it's been over 2 years now. Sorry this is so long, any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Good Morning ! I too had the itchy scratchies,,, my doc told me as long as my incision was "sealed" i could use some gentle lotion... I had some Palmers Cocobutter Lotion. It worked great, very soothing... of course, a phone call to your doc wouldn't hurt, since we are all different..
good luck!!!! Kimmie

I just posted about bring ichy. It's rather bothersome as you can relate. Having a went incision can course bacteria to grow. I think it should be ok if it is closed as Kimmie said but make sure it's dried well after. So might want to use lotion and air dry your belly. If you are like me I have a belly that hangs over the incision and can not dry well. Hope your ichies go soon. Hugs
