Need feedback my Dermabond is still there 3 1/2 weeks posts hysterectomy and counting

Okay I am slow at healing due to mitochondrial disease and Ehlers Danlos syndrome but does anyone else still have the dermabond on their abdominal incision? Mine is slowly rolling but the small parts that have come off were extremely sensitive and painful. So I don't want to mess with it but everything says it should be gone by now. I see my doc on Friday for my 4 week follow up which will be my first since my failed laproscopic, turned into abdominal
Supracervical hysterectomy (kept both ovaries) Oct 15th.

Thank You!

Re: Need feedback my Dermabond is still there 3 1/2 weeks and counting

Hello! I had staples with my hysterectomy but had Dermabond with my c-section, and I feel like it took forever for mine to come off. I was very cautious about not rubbing the area too hard, so that may have contributed to the delay. But it seems like something that comes off when it's ready - you definitely don't want to pull it off before it's ready. I would definitely ask your doc about it when you're there on Friday, but if it's not bothering you too much it is probably ok. Take care!!

Every time I showered and pat dry they would loosen up and start curling on the edges. After a while, when there was little left, I just gently pulled them off. I think water helps to loosen them up then they are not so painful taking off.

I am just past 4 weeks and the dermabond has only come off about 1/2 of the incision. I'm just letting it come off on its own.

I had the davinci surgery and I have four incions in my belly. one is going downward from my belly button.l I had dissolvable stitches, glue on top of that, steri strips on top of that and then gauze and clear tape stuff on top of that. I took the gause and tape off three days post op, steri strips all came off by 10 days. All my glue finally has come off and I am a month post op. And all but two of my stitches are gone. I had a big glob of glue in my belly button and it was bothering me so much when I bent over or when I sat certain ways. It was starting to come off but was just folding over on itself so i got some nail clippers and was just gonna trim it and ended up pulling it all off. My hubby would yell at me to stop picking at my glue but it was so annoying!!! I knew the stitches were gonna hold my incisions together. Some of the glue that was stuck to the stitches I didn't mess with. But like I said I am a month post op and it is all gone now.

When I saw my doctor at the 3 week mark, she told me I could put Vaseline on the glue and leave for about 15 minutes and that would soften it up and it worked.
