Sometimes they need to be put in there place- a lot of times paitents leave a practice and never tell a doctor. Sometimes they need to be FIRED and let known that they have been fired for poor service.
Oh, as soon as I got home yesterday I called her office manager and promptly cancelled my follow up appt in September. I gave her a quick recap of what happened and told her that ways why I won't be going back. I also paid up front $1,000 for her fees, which did include the two follow up appointments so I told her I want to be reimbursed for the second appointment that I won't be going to. My husband started looking up reviews on her last night and the reviews from around 2008/2009 are all really good (that's when I started seeing her) then as we got into 2010/2011 they got progressively worse with people commenting that she is money hungry and that's all she cares about, not the patient. I do believe they are right. I'm going to be making phone calls today to see what I have to do in regards to filing complaints with anyone and everyone I can!

I would ask for reimbursement for that first post-op visit, since you didn't exactly get *treated* during that visit--more like abused. You already had to see your GP to make up for that one, so your GYN shouldn't get the credit for that visit.

I am so sorry you had to experience this! I, too, have had a doctor that was wonderful but over the years he changed. Please find a new doctor ... have the surgical reports and pathology faxed over and let the new doctor fill you in on the details. Please report your doctor to the AMA, there is no excuse for treating a patienct that way!!

Wow, that is just horrible. I'm so sorry you had to endure any of this! To me it sounds like she is trying to hide things, probably cutting corners and taking on more than she can do. She definitely needs to be reported and have her license taken away. Her behavior goes against all the oathes that she took to become a doctor and it's disgutsting! I'm so glad that your gp was so kind and gave you names of other good gynos! Good luck with the next one. I hope this one is done very shortly so noone else has to put up with her! Hang in there and I hope they get all this infection taken care of and you are on the road to recovery!

Wow, I'm just beyond appalled.

So glad to hear you have a good GP who can refer you to a new gyn. And yes, I would not only report the crazy b*tch but also write a review on every doctor rating website you can find, so new patients know to beware.

I called my GP's office and in a nutshell told her nurse the story, she talked to my Dr and the Dr said I need to come in either today or tomorrow, so since my husband is home on his last day off with me I will be going at 4:30 this afternoon. My previous post got so long I forgot to add, that she is training a new LPN and she had the trainee do my post op exam, didn't go behind her and do her own, just peeked in my crotch while the speculm was in there and said it looked fine, she didn't have gloves on so she clearly had no intentions of making sure that her new employee was looking at the right things or feeling for the right things. Add that to the fact I have a slightly infected incision all of them still have the glue on them, she asked me if I have been showering everyday.....my reply was yes of course, then she said well that glue is only supposed to be on for a week you were supposed to peel it off already. I told her it would have been nice if someone told me that, all I was told during my discharge was to not take a bath and that was it! She then looks at her new girl and says, I really need to make a page long list of post op instructions....OMG, ya think?!

I wish I would have had my husband drive me to my appt so he could have been there to hear and witness what happened. Then he could have shut her down about the fact that she never made contact with him after the surgery. She even tried to call him on his cell phone while I was right there in the middle of all of this but he is working from home and it showed as a private number so he didn't answer. All I could think is this is about to get real interesting, he would have ripped her a new one. He's been telling me for awhile that I need to change Dr's because she is always so far behind and that's no way to run a business etc. I always made excuses for her because I really liked her and felt like she had my best interest at heart, it's become very clear to me that she only has her bottom line in mind.

She is in her own private practice so there is no one to complain to as far as that goes. The whole thing was so much worse than I typed here, it went on and on with her changing her story, telling me that she didn't own the hospital and the nurses didn't work for her, to which I told her I was aware of that that I'm not stupid. She was all over the place and so random with things she was saying, I could not believe it. She asked me if I knew how many times she had called the hospital to check on me, to which I said, no the nurses kept telling me they were calling you regarding my cath that in the end was in for 23 hrs because they said you wern't returning phone calls, and the gas meds that it took forever to get because of the same thing. She denied any of that, said it didn't happen and said she had a problem with that nurse. I was so stunned and I looked at her nurse that was sitting in the same room watching and hearing all of this and she looked like a deer in headlights. I looked at her and said, am I being unreasonable here and she didn't say a word. She actually applogized twice after the Dr stormed out and gave me a hug saying that never should have happened. I did say her, tell Dr. X (not sure if I'm allowed to name names here) she can talk to me once her period is done! She agreed
Oh Sweetheart, I am so sorry you sat there and endured such abuse. I would have gotten up informed her that I was not impressed by her unethical, unprofessional, and rude behavior and that I would be reporting her immediately. She is a physician, in your service, there is always someone you can speak to about her. I would call everyone I could to report what happened to me.

Sounds to me like she has a problem. Do let the hospital know and also the state agency which licenses her. It varies state to state. Also possibly the AMA. Glad to hear there are other docs out there who are good. And she has to give you a copy of all your records if you request it and also forward it to a new doc. How ridiculous
