Shouldn't have lifted...

I will be 5 weeks post op on Monday. I had a LAVH with a couple of minor complications in my first 2 weeks post op. I have been feeling my normal self for the past two weeks, everything including my energy level had returned to normal. Thursday and Friday I spent organizing an PTO event at my daughter's school. I lifted heavy and carried heavy tables and other things. Today I have been very tired, light-headed, and my tummy is sore to the touch. I also have a pulling/burning feeling on my right side. I go back to the Dr on Dec. 2nd. Does any one have any idea what I am feeling and if I should be concerned? Thanks

Shouldn't have lifted...

Hi Amber

We all do something silly at some point during recovery so don't feel bad.

The chances are you have just over done things. Try to have a really easy day today, maybe take ibuprofen to deal with the soreness, and see if things improve.

But if there is any prolonged or heavy bleeding call the Dr.

Hugs

Shouldn't have lifted...

Tenderness and fatigue is very normal after doing what you did. Katy is right: Move forward and don't be too hard on yourself. BUT try very hard to get someone else to lift heavy things! I has a similar date to yours, and am still asking the grocery store to not make the bags too heavy, b/c I pay for it! I know it is frustrating- busy people want to get back to normal. But everytime I push it, I am back in bed regretting it.
