Smile - Did you get a second opinion? Did you get a second opinion?

I didn't get a second opinion. I did try the ablation/ exploratory lap with cyst removal. Tried BCPs. Twice. Then decided on the TAH for endo/adenomyosis.

The minute I met my gyn I was so comfortable with him and his bedside manner. I never once felt the need to feel insecure, he's very upfront and honest with me. Gives me options and lets me ultimately decide what I feel is best based on his knowledge and suggestions.

Also it helps that I have 2 aunts that work there in his office so I feel even that much more confident in my decision.

Did you get a second opinion?

Yes, I had 2 different doctors examine me, offer their recommendation, and then a 3rd opionion (by phone). Due to an aggressive forceps delivery after prolonged labor with failed epidural, there was a problem with uterine prolapse. In my early 30s it was a bit premature to consider using a pessary to hold everything back up. I was happy to agree to the hysterectomy and have no regrets. The bummer was the unreliable ovarian function following the hyst which sputtered on and off.

Did you get a second opinion?

I didn't get a second opinion as I thought that a TAH was the only way to rid me of my cancer.

A friend did try to talk me into getting one but when I told him that I bled that morning, he surely changed his tune.

I was very happy with my descision as the out come is that I am now cancer free

Did you get a second opinion?

So glad for you. Its tough for the first couple of weeks but by the time you get to the third week you will be amazed how good you will feel. I too am cancer free. Mine was considered endometrial cancer when I went in for surgery but the cancer was in the polyp and had not gone into the endometrium. Thank you God.

Keep your chin up. Like I have said so many times. "This is a small price to pay compared to what it could have been". let me know how you are doing.

I am so glad I got a second opinion!

The nurse/midwife I had been seeing for years and the gyno said I was not anemic and would have to put up with the bleeding until I had surgery. The new Gyn said No! You don't have to put up with the bleeding there is medicine to stop it. Also, he said I was very anemic ( which my mother and friends already knew). I am so happy I did that. I am still not 100% and still feel pretty rotten most of the time, but at least I'm not bleeding buckets!!!!

Did you get a second opinion?

Yes, I got a second and a third opinion. Second opinion was more of an information session. Never checked me, but concurred with what my doctor said (according to medical records and conversations). The third opinion actually checked me and did an endometrial biopsy and a cervical biopsy. Still waiting for the results, as it was just done on Tuesday. I have a hyster scheduled for 2-3-09

biopspy

Oh, those wonderful biopsies. My last (not current) gyn. decided, during what I thought was just a pap smear, to do an endo. biopsy. I almost came off the table. Unreal. He then said what he was doing. I never went back to him.
