Re: What about the cervix?

I don't miss my cervix at all. Ultimately since there is no consensus among the medical community about whether keeping the cervix is beneficial, you just have to weight the pros and cons and decide for yourself. As for sex, for me it's never been better. DH does not feel that anything is missing, cannot feel where the stitches were, and says he might even like it better this way

Hi Janecat, don't mean to pry but if you are comfortable sharing can you say whether the changes made sex painful, less fulfilling, or just different? Thanks so much ladies, all of your experiences really help me to think things through.

Re: What about the cervix?

my doctor and i were planning to take out my cervix as the first option, but she said there was so much scar tissue with my bowel and uterus that she thought it was best to keep it in place for now. she placed a mesh on top of it to try to prevent adhesions.

hi i don't mind at all for me cervical cancer run in my family and I decided that not to keep it, plus possible bleeding anyway. myself the healing took 12weeks not kidding Needed it to be completely healed 6for recovery wasn't for me it took more like 31/2 months pain of sex on first time deep inside was pretty bad had to stop... so dh and I got creative snuggled a lot we been through. a lot waiting was not a problem 6months no pain but started to bleed after more like irritated something maybe the tissues... we were normal after 4months important still healing and I have no more lubricate maybe due to hormones are now changed i do still have my ovaries plus hotflashes. a lot more then before my surgery was okay but pain was not managed well i had some trouble. recovery takes about. a year for your body be easy with yourself you may not be better after 6weeks my Dr.thought oh your going be good in 2 to 4weeks. nope not me....big surprise to him. i had the davinci TLH with cervix removal and I have vaginal cuff now.
