TAH: Hysterectomy with bowel resection 24 Feb 2017 - very demanding boss doesn't get it! Venting

So I am trying to get my work stuff in order. With pre-op and other Dr appointments I have nine more working days. My boss is apparently clueless. My Dr sent a note asking I be allowed to telework ( I work for the Gov) and it also stated I could drive after two weeks but not return to work till April 17th. He then tells me today the way he sees it is if I can drive after two weeks I can come to work!!! Are you kidding with me??!! I told him he needed to go do research about what was going to be done to me. I am fuming!!!! Had to involve the union representatives. 😡

I am so sorry your boss is not understanding the gravity of this surgery. This is MAJOR SURGERY. I have read the only surgery more major is open heart surgery. Just because you can drive does no way mean you can work. Maybe you can have your doctor explain as such to your boss.
