Funky Smell after Hysterectomy and Repairs

Ok here goes, had multiple surgeries on 07-07-2014, TVH, bladder sling, pelvic floor and wall repair (rectum, small intestines in wrong places). I woke up this morning to horrible smell and discharge. Is this normal ? I still have bleeding bright red in color.

Are running a temp? It won't hurt to give the doctor a call.

Re: Funky Smell after Hysterectomy and Repairs

It is not unusual to have a stronger odor down below as we heal after this surgery. Especially if you have additional repairs, as this may be from the stitches dissolving and the incisions healing. I had a stronger than normal odor and weird discharge and went to the doctor. All was normal for me. Since then I have seen many women report an odor down below as well.

A foul odor should definitely be reported to your doctor, as this could be a sign of infection. Here is an article: Vaginal Odor
