THE DRAIN...

I don't want a drain. I had one last time due to bleeding out into my abdomin.

I am having a LSH and was wondering if any of you Laparocopic Ladies had a drain?

Do they do this as general practice or only in certain instances.

I can't tell you how bad it hurt when he yanked that thing out. Just the thought makes me want to

Hi,

In most cases, drains aren't used in hysterectomies. I'm sure in some extreme cases, they may be, but it's not common practice, especially with laproscopic procedures.

You should probably ask your doctor about this, as he or she would be able to tell you if you'll be having a drain.

I had my laparoscopic surgery April 9th -- there was no drain. I did have a bladder catheter during the surgery but they inserted it and removed it when I was still asleep. Woke up and went home several hours later. Piece of cake. Good luck!

Wow! Home in the same day? I was excited at only having to stay 2 days. I have a fear of going home too early. So if I even stayed 1 night, that would be cool!!

Can't wait til it is over. Only 8 days left to chicken out!!!!!!
