left ovaries

I had LAVH on feb 7th due to ademoysis and endo. The doctor told after the surgery that the left ovary had a little endo on it and later if he needed to remove it , it would not be that difficult. I guess because of my age(I am 34) he wanted to me to keep my ovaries. Has anyone out there had this same experience? Did you have ovaries removed later? Was the surgery easier? Has anyone had the ovaries left with endo and not had any problems? I guess time will tell. I just hope it doesnt give me any problems... Any help or answers would be appereciated....

I too am 33 years and have suffered the same problems as you. Had TAH on 12th Feb and my ovaries were left in. I have the same concerns as you and too would like advice. Keep Well!!!! Hugs x x x

My hyst because of endo was 6 1/2 yrs ago when I was 25. Because of my age, I retained my ovaries and still have them today.

It can be hard to know exactly what to do when endo is involved and we are young. We need hormones for so many parts of our body including our cardiovascular system and bones. But, our hormones can feed any endo that was left behind. However, if we have our ovaries removed, we may or may not be able to tolerate HRT, which of course will also feed any remaining endo!
