Post Hysterectomy 26/3/07

I found HysterSisters via Google only two days ago. I have been trying to locate information regarding post hysterectomy care. This web site is fantasic with the post hysterectomy information. I had my op on 26 March after 12 months of unexpalined heavy and irregular bleeding. My doctor was able to do a vaginal hysterectomy, bladder sling, and vaginal repair due to prolapse. My stay in hospital was only 4 days, shorter than orginal plan. My husband keeps saying that I look better now than before the op have more colour and mood is alot better.
Pain not so bad, tummy sore, still bleeding some days light some days not so light - not sure if this should be the case or whether I should call the doctor.
Finding it hard not to do stuff around the house. But know that I will pay for it if I do to much.....How many DVD's an one person watch in a day.

DVD's, puzzles, crossword books, reading books...yes, they all get quite boring.
The positive side is through all the boring things we do, we are healing. Only have this one chance to heal right.
And in the future, I am hoping to look back and wish I could sit around for awhile.LOL
Take care. Rest, walk, and drink lots of water.

Hi Smudge & June,

Had my keyhole hysto on the 18 april. Yep watching dvd's, at least its better than tv. I'm having the insomnia issues of a night, and definately can relate to the early waking, for me its about 4:30 without fail last week, so far this week it hasn't let me down yet. Bugger. My kids drank/eaten all of my Milo, so thats not helping me right now at nearly 2 in the morning! I NEED SLEEP BUT I CAN'T, I really need to find a solution. I should be tired, I didn't watch any daytime tv yesterday (tues), visited ppl at work at lunch time, and feel tired, just can't sleep. So instead of the idiot box, I thought i'd read the latest on here.

Ok, i'm going on and on. I'll stop now. Might try the bed again shortly.

Night night. Fiona
