TLH Hope for ladies worried about orgasm...

So I had my total laparoscopic hysterectomy last Wednesday. The doctor said no sex for six weeks, but that we could still act like ***** teenagers until then with fondling on the outside when I was feeling the urge.

So anyway, I'm a week post-op and finally felt to the point where I was "in the mood" -- so with terrible fear of a ruined sex life, we tried things out again. Hope this isn't too much info, but I had been terrified of a ruined orgasm after hearing about the removal of cervix/uterus. Anyway, it was totally not the case for me. It was amazing. Still have the deep "pulsating" sensation in the vagina, as well as the external orgasm. I never had the feeling of missing any part of the orgasms I had pre-surgery. I am so beyond relieved and wanted to offer my story to any other women that were like me and freaking out due to some of the bad experiences written on here by others. I know everyone is different, but I thought a story about a "happy ending" (haha) might make some people feel hopeful.

Just to make sure I was clear before, it was not SEX. It was all outside.... definitely wouldn't want to jeopardize recovery!

I had my hysterectomy and bladder sling surgery Aug 26, 2015. I was also worried about the orgasms with sexual activity. I have always had strong orgasms with outside stimulation as well as inside. About 3 weeks after my surgery I had only outer stimulation because my urge was driving me insane. Was a little disappointed that things weren't responding as well as I am use to. my finance even asked did they break your squirter (sorry if too much info)? Which frustrated me more But 5 weeks post op did it again with awesome success. I go back to the dr Mon for my 6 week check but i am still having some pelvic floor pain when i am up all day and bending hurts me. So I will be refraining from inside stimulation for a while longer. But for the ladies that are fearing no more or not as good orgasms I can say that with time I seem to be doing good and with only outside stimulation. So even if the first time or few times are not as you expect, be patient and keep trying. Just remember to take your time and have patience.

YES!!!! I am almost 3 weeks out but terrified! Ha ha Most sisters probably are!

I can also give some GREAT news!! I had my surgery 5 weeks ago, August 25th and have had intercourse with my dh 3 times, I know that seems like a lot but my doctor give me the go ahead and see how things go. We were slow and easy the first 2 times and I experienced no pain whatsoever!!! WooHoo FINALLY!!! Even with pain before my surgery I still experienced great orgasms but the pain was always there. So I was really worried about loosing that. The first time was good but not great, I think because we were really worried about hurting me. But the second time was wonderful and the third time was completely AMAZING!! It seems the more we try the better it gets. My husband also says it's great and that I don't feel any different, if anything I feel better!! This is so good for me and him both because before I had so much pain and would hurt extremely bad for days afterwards so unfortunately we couldn't much before but now I can definitely say it will be happening often. I hope this helps ease some worried ladies!!

Great news. So happy to hear that Was vaginal dryness an issue? Did you use any lubricant? I am 4 weeks post op but still have not got the green light from my dr.

Thank you for sharing. I was worried that when my time came it would be painful, I would not be able to orgasm, or I wouldn't feel anything. Before my Davinci partial hysterectomy, the orgasms were very strong. My desire was very strong as I entered my forties. It even scared me because I suffered with painful intercourse through my younger years caused by fibroids.
