TAH: Pipelle Biopsy - is this always taken pre op?

Hi Everyone. SO so glad I've found this site. I feel a fraud as some of you are going through so much. I had my first appointment yesterday with Gyn Consultant who took a Pipelle Biopsy (to my surprise as didn't know he was going to). Question is... I knew I had fibroids following scan so is this just routine before a hysterectomy. He said surgery will be in about 3 - 4 months time. I guess they are just checking out that no cancer present or do they suspect cancer and not telling me. I'd rather know. Sorry to be a wimp. x

When I told my dr I wanted a hysterectomy she immediately scheduled me for a scope and a biopsy. She told me is was standard though my only problem was large fibroids.

I'm assuming a pipelle biopsy is an endometrial biopsy. I had a couple of these before a non-surgical procedure for fibroids. My understanding is that it was to check for cancer. My hyster was for an ovarian mass so no pre-surgical biopsy.

I also had a scope and D&C done before my surgery
