Re: Best Wishes to our April 15 Princesses

Hi all

Best wishes to everyone else on the 15th. I'm on my lunch break for my last full day at work. Leaving tomorrow at 11:30 to go home and start my bowel cleanse! I also need to pack, although I have most of my items that have been recommended here together.
I just hope I will be comfortable on my way home. My surgery is at a hospital 2 1/2 hrs. away from home! I bought a capri outfit with elastic waist to wear home on Saturday, but now I see it's going to be cold and rainy in New England on Saturday! May throw a blanket in the back of the van so I can stay warm.
Looking forward to being on the other side. Having a TAH! I wonder how far the incision will go up. (Vertical so they can open up wide). Does it go past the belly button? Never thought to ask that.

Re: Best Wishes to our April 15 Princesses

Best of luck to you as well sdreamer2000, along with all the other ladies!!

Won’t know what time mine is until tomorrow. I don’t know what kind of hyster mine will be until they get in there. I have a sun dress to wear home with a little sweater to go over it… I figured the less that touches my belly the better. Sorry don’t know how high the incision could go, but (((HUGS))) and best wishes!! We’ll probably be asking questions about the lovely bowel cleanse tomorrow, huh? LOL.

Re: Best Wishes to our April 15 Princesses

I have prior C-section scar -vertical- that has been used before. This will be the 5th time they cut, 2 C-sections, myomectomy, another C-section. Mine ends about an inch below my belly button.

Had my pre-op today. At 54 I'm just starting to get hot flashes and still flipping the coin on ovary removal. No real issues with them ever, no family history, low risk group from what I've read. Doc wants them out due to my age, no other reason.

I was delighted to learn a seasoned Gyn oncology doc will be assisting in surgery due to all my prior surgeries/scar tissue. My long time Gyn who so skillfully performed my myomectomy and removed my daughter's mega cysts retired young due to Lupus, then died recently. I have been worried about the surgical skills of the younger doctor. I am sad and miss my old doctor, especially now.

Re: Best Wishes to our April 15 Princesses

Hi ladies!

I am three weeks out from my LAVH and want to let you know that I felt better two days after surgery than I had for years! I was even off pain meds after the third day, and mine was not an easy surgery since it took three times as long as the doctor had expected. That softball sized fibroid and adhesions are gone!!! Yeah!!!

Try not to be nervous. You are doing this for very good reasons!!!!

A mix of emotions: (children mentioned below)

Tomorrow huh? I guess I'm ready. Very nervous and excited at the same time. Trying not to focus on the negatives but I have to admit I'm moments away from a good cry. I know this is the best option for me and my family however I feel so guilty knowing that I have to take some "me" time in order to heal. My husband is very loving and supportive, I feel bad that he is having to go through all of this with me though. Like he didnt know I was broken when we met when I was 16. So many health issues years later and he stands tall by my side. Being the super husband and super dad that he is. Wish I could say this was my first surgery but hey maybe it will be my last. This is the first time he is going to have our boys alone over night. My baby doesnt even sleep through the night and is a total mama's boy. My parents were supposed to watch them a few nights until my mom fell and broke her wrist last week on my son's first birthday now its all on my husband.
I know the future looks bright and i cant wait to get to the other side of this!
My LAVH is tomorrow at 9. Less than 24 hours to go.

Children mentioned below

Hi Decisions4me,

try not to worry so much! Your husband is so very capable, and the children will teach him how to care for them just like your babies taught you their likes and dislikes. He might not do it the way you would, but it will get done. They will have a great opportunity to bond with their father!

Do remember please that you are not broken or defective because some of your parts are acting up. Be good to yourself right now.
