Spotting today 8 weeks in two days
Good Afternoon,
I am a little concerned Thurs marks 8 weeks since I had the Da Vinci Hysterectomy. For the first time I got on my elliptical machine this morning. After running around this afternoon I came home and when I went to the bathroom I had blood spotting on my underwear I called the dr office but haven't heard anything back. Can any of you tell me if this is normal. (ps haven't had sex yet I am suppose to wait till 8 weeks)
Thank you

Re: Spotting today 8 weeks in two days
I had my surgery the same day as you. I am still having some pink spotting off and on. It started last week after I used the treadmill for the first time. I called my Drs and was told it can still be normal. Mine hasn't been red, but just a pinkish discharge. Very frustrating! I feel like it was brought on by exercise, but the nurse said it was just part of the healing process. I was cleared at 6 weeks, so it's just surprising to me.
I am seeig my Dr on Thursday for my annual. I was kind of annoyed that I had to go back for another appointment, but now I'm happy I have another chance to get checked out, even though it's still considered normal.

Re: Spotting today 8 weeks in two days
As of right now I am having the pinkish discharge. I got a call back from my dr office and they said for now just to observe it. I just don't understand how almost 8 weeks after surgery I am having this. They told me that I can continue to doing everything normal. But I seem to be more concerned than them. I am just as surprised :-/
Can you let me know what your Dr says on Thursday. It seems we are almost having the same symptom. It would be nice to know what they say if its the same as mine. Maybe I am over reacting.

Re: Spotting today 8 weeks in two days
I've been spotting a dark brown discharge for the last 6 days and I am over 6 weeks post op. First my doc siad it was a mini period and now his nurse comforted me and said its old blood coming out from the op. I'm confused as why now after 6 weeks? But I see my doc for my huge check up next tues

Re: Spotting today 8 weeks in two days
Saw my Dr today. We talked about the spotting and she explained that while the stitches have dissolved, the area is still healing. She said if should start happening less often, but I may notice it with sex or more activity. All part of the healing process as long as it's not blood like a period.
I guess that makes sense. I just don't want it anymore! It came back this evening.

Re: Spotting today 8 weeks in two days
So great to read your remarks!! As you can see I am just one week ahead of you all. I too have had some pinkish discharge after increased activity (moped both bathroom and kitchen floor, dusted, picked up, changed bed, etc.) I was told I was good to go and just "listen to my body".....well, I listened and it scared me witless!!! Taking it easy today. You hate to overdo and mess something up and then realize it is too late!!! Seems like the damage is done when you realize you shouldn't have done it!!!!!!
