Has anyone taken or now taking CENESTIN ? HRT

After surgery my dr put a patch on me.. it stayed on till my 1 week check up .. then she gave me some sample bottles of Cenestin .9mg and told me to not take them for 4 weeks then take one a day... I'd like to know if anyone of you have been on them or on them and how they worked or didnt for you ??? THanks Kim

Has anyone taken or now taking CENESTIN ? HRT

Hi Kimberly,

I was taking Cenestin .45 mg until 8 days ago. I only stopped because my doctor and I weren't sure if a rash and itching that I had was left over from a reaction to some IV contrast or a reaction to that particular estrogen.

In hindsight, I think the rash was left over from the IV dye and the itching was because I needed a higher dose of estrogen. But we just weren't sure at the time.

Good luck with your "foray" into the jungle!

Hi. I'm taking a very low dose of it .3mg. It got rid of the night sweats for a week or 2 but now they are back. Not as bad though.

hi, kimberly
i had a lavh/bso 10-17-05 and I was placed on the climara patch after surgery. So far everything fine with the patch. I was previously on cenestin 0.3 and prometrium at night. Then in January 2005 I was taken off prometrium and advised to take cenestin 0.3 every other day. I had no problems while on cenestin or prometrium. i am glad this surgery is over as I had many fibroids and cyst rt ovary and inflammed cervix and retroverted uterus. Pathology all ok.
Best wishes.

Hello,

I've been on Cenestin since July. I work in a doctor's office so I've been able to play around with the dosages with the samples that we have in the office. I started out with .9, went to .625, down to .45. I decided that I felt the best when I was on .625 so that is what I have been taking. I really don't have many hot flashes. When I do, they are really mild. I have swelling in my lower legs but the doc doesn't think it's related to the Cenestin. I would at least try it and see how you feel.
