PMDDwill it go away after a TAH?

Good Morning Ladies,
I am 41 yrs. old and am considering having a TAH on 11/29/01. I have PCO, Endo, and PMDD that I have taken meds for for 2 years. I have severe cramps and heavy flow.
I just want to know how many of you out there still have the PMDD/PMS after the hyster. Will the HRT counter these problems.

Thanks for your thoughts and comments. It's so nice to have this- It lets me know I'm not crazy!

God Bless you all!

Thanks!
Jeanne

PMDDwill it go away after a TAH?

Hi Jeanne,
I to suffer from PMDD, and was given Celexa about 8 months ago, It did relieve some of the problems, On June 12, 2001 I had a TVH, keeping the overies, which mean, I STILL suffer from PMDD, the first month after surgery when it should have been PMS time I felt nothing, (my overies were shut down) the second month it hit me hard!!!!, I called my doctor, I guess I just expected ALL the crazy stuff to go "away" with the hyterectomy. I was told it will "lessen" well it is 5 months later and I can honestly say it HAS lessened, I am still on celexa, but they symptoms are very minimual!!! I think the worse symptom is I get a little down during that week, and CRAVE chocolate. but none of the severe symptoms I was having. I am told that after a year that I should have hardly any symptoms. I look forward to this, but to answer your question, IT DOES GET BETTER, or at least it did for me!!!
Good luck with your hyster, it will be the best thing you ever did
or I should say.....It was for me!!!!!!!!
Kelly
