after robotic laproscopic hysterectomy

Today is the 20th of Feb. 2009, I had a DaVinci robotic laproscopic hysterectomy on the 3rd of Feb. So it's been 17 days, I feel like I could do just about anything but my doctor has warned me to stay away from abdominal exercises and heavy weight lifting for now. I walk about a mile every day and that feels pretty good. I still have an awareness of soreness deep inside and some lower back pain but nothing serious. The incision sites are healing nicely, I've kept them super dry and that has helped. I've had no significant pain since the 7th of Feb. so for me, the pain, and it was mostly gas pain, was all over after the 4th day.

My doctor released me without restructions two weeks after my daVinci, so I trotted off to work the very next day. My advice would be to be sure to return to work half days for a while, if at all possible. I would come home from a half-day and have to take a nap before I could do anything.

Although I had a desk job, it was very stressful, and no one did any of my work while I was out. I transitioned back to my typical 9 hour days over one month's time.

Best wishes to you, Cheryl. Please keep in mind, as others have said, that there is still a lot of internal healing to be done and the Princess still needs to be pampered.

Gerry,
I will do as you say and keep in mind that at 18 days post surgery there is still a lot of internal healing to be done. Thanks for the encouragement.
