i can't eat! estradoil.
aw poo. i'm on estradoil (estrace) and i can hardly eat!! i wouldn't normally complain about this but it can't be healthy and i LIKE TO EAT.
saturday i ate two pieces of dry toast and a handful of nuts. that is all.
sunday i ate half a hamburger and a couple handfulls of popcorn.
today...i made two eggs with cheese for breakfast and promptly puked them back up.
i haven't tried eating since that and i'm kind of hungry but not nearly as hungry as i'd normally be.
does this ever go away?

Maybe you have a stomach bug? I don't have any problem eating and I'm on estradiol. If anything it increases my appetite.

i don't think it's a bug. this happened the day after the doc upped my dosage. i read the side effects and apparently it can cause nausea and reduction in appetite. so i guess that's what has happened to me. it's lunchtime and i haven't eaten yet (if you don't count the eggs i puked) and DH is bringing me my favorite lunch but i don't know if i'll be able to eat it.
i guess i should enjoy the weight loss effects for now? lol
i don't take anything else. just the estrace. but hey...if it is a bug then i can look forward to it going away soon which will be good.

How much estradiol are you taking? I was consistently nauseated on 1.0 mg as well as when I cut it back to .75 and .50 mg. I was never hungry and felt as if I had morning sickness all the time. I did not know it was the medication for months because I was started on it right after my hysterectomy. I thought it was just my body trying to adjust. Wrong, it just did not agree with me at all.
You could test this and cut your normal dose in half for just a day or two to see if it lets up. Then go back to your normal dose and see how you feel. Keep a journal of what you did and how you are feeling. This is the best way for you to see how your body is reacting. As you can tell from this forum, many sisters take estradiol and feel great; so you will have to do some experimenting.

Yes, there is hope. It just takes time. You are so new in your recovery it could be hard to get balanced for a while yet. Try to be patient and don't panick, you will find your balance.
Estradiol tablets hit hard and drop off pretty quickly (around three hours). Sometimes this up and down is just too much fluctuation for the body. If you are only taking it once per day, absolutely try dividing your dose in half; taking them 12 hours apart. Thay may really helpy you.

When I was getting too much estrogen I was very sick.
I was using a patch and using premarin vaginal cream
and the combination of the two really made me sick.

There is a good book I liked reading regarding hormones - the author is Elizabeth Vliett and the title is "Screaming to be Heard". She talks a lot about the use of estradiol and gives a lot of examples. It helped me when I was new to the hormone jungle and really struggling. You could probably find it at the library.
