Need some ADVICE

It's too soon, even if you sat at a desk(which I hear is tough as well)
Please wait it out. C'mon, you forget you are a princess who is worth the extra time off?

Stay home and do some class planning or something! As the parent of a special needs 8th grader I applaud you for wanting to go back so soon, but heal first!! They will need you to be in tip top shape for the rest of the year! Thanks for your commitment to "our" kids, they need people like you in their lives!

Need some ADVICE

Stay home for the 8 weeks! I felt great after 2 weeks and then the little things started. I had UTI - twice and I felt worse from that than I did from the surgery. I also began having severe hot flashes the week before I was scheduled to come back to work. I came back to work on 1/8/07 and I am still exhausted at the end of each day even though I have a desk job. Best wishes to you and I hope you are soon 100%.

Need some ADVICE

When I had a myomectomy, I went back to work at 4 weeks and it was a mistake. I came in one morning and left in 30 minutes. For weeks I was dragging.

Once you go in you really can't go back.

Need some ADVICE

I'm a sped teacher too (Resource K-3). I had TVH on the 27th of Feb. and just had my 2 week post-op today. My dr. said I could return to work any time I felt ready (he said since I didn't have an incision, the healing time can be faster). However, he did caution me that if I over-did it, I would be in A LOT of pain, that could take me out of commission for a longer time. He also said even for a couple of months out that there would be extreme fatigue. He reccommended that I start just testing myself each day by adding a bit more activity (but if anything hurt to stop and not try again for a few days) until I worked up to where I felt I could handle things (I have at least one kindergartner I have to lift in/out of wheelchair.) Anyway, I understand your desire to get back to your kids and going stir crazy! I'm thinking right now that I might (MIGHT) shoot for the 26th (that will be about 4 weeks for me),but I'm afraid of rushing it too. I don't think we'll be doing ourselves, or our students any favors if we go back too soon and then end up worse off or barely able to make it through the days. A lot of people have advised me that you only have once chance to heal right!!

Some people recover much quicker then others. I think it's wonderful! What I would do is wait til my post op check up and then discuss it with your physician.
