Just found out the news. 13 days until operation

First let me introduct myself. I'm a 37 year old woman living in Portland. I just found out yesterday that they will be doing a hysterectomy on April 1st.
I don't know all of the terms that I see on these boards. I am having my ovaries and uterus and everything else removed.
They did a uterine biopsy yesterday morning and by the afternoon they were already calling me wanting to move up the surgery. They found some cancerous cells and felt that waiting was a risk to my health.
I'm scared. Other than a C-section this is the only Major surgery I've ever had.
I'm meeting with an oncologist this morning to discuss the findings. I've never had a test come back so quickly so I'm worried.
I don't know what to expect in the coming days. What will preop be like? What can I expect for pain management? I'm allergic to Percoset so I'm worried that I'll be in a lot of pain.
They are hoping to do a laproscopic/vaginal removal but it could change since there is a lot of scar tissue inside and my uterus has now attached itself to some organs and the scars on my abdomen from the previous c-sections.
I just need someone to help me and guide me through this. My husband is away on a business trip and I don't have any family or close friends that live here. What can I expect? Can anyone help me get over this fear and anxiety? Will I feel better like others have told me? They say I'll feel like a brand new woman without the pain and discomfort that I've suffered with for a while.

First off, I'm sorry for your cancer diagnosis. I had endometrial cancer and the surgery was the only treatment. That's true with early stage endometrial ca, which yours may be. There are "hysterectomy checkpoints" on here that can help a lot with what to expect. I can't say if you'll feel better, many women do, but it depends on the original problem. You might want to ask for an anti anxiety med for the next couple weeks. For pain, there are other pain meds they can use. I was very scared but all went better and easier than I expected. You can do this. Check out this site, look at "hints from members, too. There is info on how to prepare. Plan on cooking and cleaning ahead. We are here to help you through this.
