Blood clot where rt. ovary was...

Hi everyone. I am really enjoying this webiste during my recovery! I am 2 wks. and ONE DAY, lol, into my recovery and found out four days out that i have a blood clot where my rt. ovary was. Went for a check-up this Monday and the ultrasound showed a 3 cm by 3 cm blood clot, still there. It's very painful and feels like I still have my right ovary full of endo. Anyone else have this complication after surgery? My doc. has me on antibiodics and told me to come back in two weeks for another sonogram. I had a friend of mine, a nurse, tell me last night that I had to be careful because it could abscess....?????and that usually doctor's go in and remove them for that reason??? Anyone heard of this? Should I be conscerned? Wait it out? And I have not seen my DR since BEFORE he operated on me! I've been seeing is NP, even when I was readmitted to the hospital! Would you be upset too? I'm just a little worried. Does anyone know if this will make my recovery any longer???

Blood clot where rt. ovary was...

Hi

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this and I know you are worried. I don't have any answers for you, but I would try to see the doctor who did my surgery, if I could.

I will keep you in my prayers that it doesn't get worse and will resolve on it's own. Let us know how you are doing.

Hematoma?

I just went to the doctor today after having increased pain, and I am just short of two weeks. My surgeon wasn't in her office this week so I saw another doctor. He did a full pelvic exam and said I needed an ultrasound ASAP for a vaginal cuff hematoma. Is this what is happening to you?

Blood clot where rt. ovary was...

No. Mine is a blood clot where my right ovary was. I guess where the blood vessels still are and previously went to my ovary, there is a clot there instead. But, yes, severe pain! She explained it as having an internal bruise...that it's as painful as a bad external bruise that we can see. I understood then why it hurt so bad. I think it hurts worse when my bowels move around in that area too. I'm still on pain med's, but slowly veering off. Taking it easy, as easy as possible. I'm starting to get SEVERE cabin fever and ready to get on with my life, but this has slowed me down a lot along with the surgery. So, I'm listening to my body because I DO NOT want to be back in that hospital. I was readmitted and felt as if they stuck me everywhere. I had an abdominal CT scan...oh boy, I do NOT want another one of those. Sore bowels and then they give me an ENEMA for the scan that I had to HOLD IN for 10 min. while they scanned my stomach, as well as drink 3 glasses of red liquid equivalant to red cough syrup when I was already nauseated and felt ill. It was bad. But they did find the blood clot with this test, but I do NOT want another scan EVER nor an IV....I do feel like my family and friends are expecting a superwoman recovery and are starting to be less sensitive to me recovering...I almost think they think I like being ill...oh well...I'm just glad I have this website and you all to keep the days going and know there are a LOT of women just like me recovering.
