lots of questions
I am not scared or nervous about upcoming procedure. I am having lav/bso I think, I can not remember the abbreviation. ( removal of everything but cervix, through vagina w/assisted laparoscopy). I am actually very excited. I am so tired of being in pain, I have been suffering with severe Endometriosis, Endometrial Cysts, Hives due to the popping of those cyst, IBs and Bladder problems etc. and I really do think that this is going to relieve so much. However, as I am sure you are all very aware of, I have a few questions. I am also now aware of the Swelly Belly, however I have had 3 laparoscopy, laser surgeries and Iremember the pain from the air and swelling, so I think I will be prepared for that. I now after reading your threads see that I will need helpful products in the release of gas and uhum poop. I have been dealing with Constipated IBS for some time now and am all to familiar with the products so one more down. I am worried about having to deal with the pain, what do they give you in the Castle? What do they give you when you go home?
I am also curious, my doctor says I need to take estrogen? This is the one thing that keeps me thinking about this, also he mention something about a ring to insert and it releases the hormones, anyone heard of this? I am confident with the decission to do this but am a little nervous it is major surgery!

lots of questions
Hi, I personally have no knowledge about a ring for hormones. We have a Hormone Jungle forum with very knowledgeable ladies. Maybe you could ask there.
I also think that you should talk about all your questions with your dr. He/she should be able to answer them and maybe even help relieve some of your concerns. I didn't think to ask ahead of time about pain relief for after I ws home so my DH had to go back to have the script filled after he got me home. Getting the prescription ahead of time can really be a help.
Best wishes.

lots of questions
Hi:
I asked my doctor about the co2 that they fill your abdomen with when they do the laparoscopic procedures. I had heard that it caused pain post op, especially in the shoulders and upper back area. He said their experience is that if the co2 is warmed and humidified (technical term I can't remember) that the pain after they evacuate the gas is minimal to non-existent. You might want to ask your doctor about this. I actually did find several references to this humidifying and warming technique on several technical sites on the internet too.
In terms of hormones I have read about something called the femring, but have no idea what it is. I did search the Hormone Jungle threads and asked questions there, then asked my doctor about HRT. Consensus was to start me on .1 Vivelle Dot after surgery. I have read good things about the patches with the bioidenticals, so I will see how that works. Dr says he will put one one me right after surgery.
Good Luck
