915tanya,
I'm having a LSH in November to get rid of fibroids for good. I was talking to my doctor today about it and said the decision was up to me if i want to keep my cervix or not. She didn't really explain about the pros and cons of keeping it, she just said it doesn't matter to her either way. I guess if it's not causing a problem to keep it. It sounds like you are healing well from your surgery.

SusieQ,
I am recovering nicely, I go back to work on Friday
My doctor stated she didnt care if I kept the cervix or not. She explained the differences to me, and answerd all of my questions. I am glad I kept my cervix t this point. It has not given me any sexual side effects which is what I was most concerned about. Good luck on your up coming surgery.

Re: To Keep the Cervix...or not?

OMG if you keep your cervix you still have a mini period??? I am so bummed...I thought I was getting rid of that problem. will it get heavy again? Mine is fine so Dr said there is no reason to remove it. I don't want to get back to where I am now!!

You may still get a mini period but some people don't. Do a search on this site about it, I think you'll find more info on this.

I am 4 weeks post op and I didnt bleed a drop after surgery. You may get a mini period (spotting) but I m okay with that... There are pros and cons to both procedures.
