Im home too

So I'm supposed to be a princess? Dont feel like one.
Surgery was schedualed for an hour, but lastes 2.5 hours. Major bladder problems, enlarged uterus. No fibroids ,no cancer, no cysts. Ive just walked in the door, begged for them to let me go, I was supposed to have a private room, but there wasn't any available so I got three other roomates, all sounded like they were dying,so not very useful for me to be there. I have no bladder senstations so i have been told to go every hour to make sure I don't have accidents. Apparenlty this will get better after six weeks, yippie. In my opinion the waiting was the easy part, but than again everyone is different. The morphine made me itch and vomity, so we switched over to demeral which worked nicely. Had some big set backs, the bladder for one, it wasn't supposed to be that bad, and them removing my drainage tube. Thank the lord they gave me a cathider for the full three days, and took it out at night. Didn't sleep much, had terrible night sweats. I'm glad to be home, with my kids, husband and mom and dad, all pampering. This is the best part. For those of you out there which have had c sections, this is much worse. I don't regret it, and would do it all over again. So glad its done, looking forward to getting better everyday. I've had no flow at all. Terrible back pains from the epi, and sore bruised arm from the blood thinners, didn't know they stung so badly. Don't be afraid to ask for pain meds, thats what they're there for. I'm off to sit on my patio in the sun, so delighted the sun it out, will make me feel so much better. Ps not looking forward to sleeping in my bed tonight.
Good luck to all, and to all who wished me well thank you ever so much. I will write more in days to come.

Im home too

Welcome home! Now be a good princess and remember your training: rest, drink lots of water, rest, take short walks around the house, and rest.

We’ll look for your castle story on the “Princesses Tell Their Stories” forum, and all further recovery updates on the PostOp forum.

Best wishes for a smooth, uneventful recovery.
