3 weeks post hysterectomy: Feeling depressed

Hi all,

I am 3 weeks post op and I am in no kind of pain. I have been out to the store and had lunch with some friends and sometimes it did exhaust me. Today I have done nothing but stay in the bed and mope around. Just feeling icky and kind of depressed. I cried earlier, why? I have no idea . Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Feeling depressed

Hello,
Yes there are many of us who go through this so you are not alone. Our bodies are going through so many changes and hormones can get the best of you. I'm week 7 post op and I cry at the drop of a hat even watching commercials. It will get better but if you need to talk to your doctor about how you're feeling that would be best. Hope you feel better..

Thank you for taking the time to respond. If it continues, I will call my Doc. These feelings just come outta nowhere .

I was very weepy as well. Dr gave me some estrogen gel which has really helped.

Estrogen gel? I have never heard of
That but then again I'm new to all of this. I'm gonna mention it to my doc. Thank you!

Itsmytime48 no problem ☺. Finding this site helped me tremendously before my hysterectomy and is still helping.

I had my right ovary removed but still have my left. Sometimes the ovary will shut down after surgery and it takes a little while to start back up again. Called Estrogel .06%. I rub it on my arm once a day from wrist to shoulder.
