Is this normal?

So I'm 4 1/2 months post-op and lately I've been crazy tired and extremely emotional. I kept my ovaries so I have no idea why I'm so overly emotional. It's to the point where I'm crying at Disney cartoons. (seriously I started crying while watching toy story 3) I have no idea what is going on with me. I've never been a cryer type person and this is bugging me.

That and the last three weeks or so I've had almost no energy at all. I can get 8 hours sleep be up for 4 hours and feel like I've been up for days on end. I'm wondering if this is normal, or has anyone else felt or gone through this?

Re: Is this normal?

That's just it, I'm not even close to being depressed. Most days I'm trying to get stuff done, just so freaking tired. Its pretty **** annoying to be honest. The crying thing is even more annoying cause I can't even watch commercials sometimes without tearing up. Last time I was this hormonal and tired I was pregnant, but we know that's not a possibility so I'm trying to figure out what's up.

Re: Is this normal?

I've heard that the ovaries can go into shock after the surgery and it can take weeks or months for them to start working properly again. It may be that they are beginning to produce some more hormones and that is upsetting your hormonal balance. It might be worth at least a phone call to your doctor's office.

That may be it, never thought about that. It started around the time I would have normally started my cycle so that may be what is causing my issues. I just couldn't figure out why now all of a sudden I started getting so emotional and tired. I may give my doc a call on Monday and see what he has to say about it.

Re: Is this normal?

Hi there - hope you're finding some relief and/or answers. I just had a LSH Tues and am pretty nervous about how my ov's will hold up post-op (were lots of adhesions, didn't know if I'd be able to keep them, but luckily, we're hanging in so far) and the emotional fallout that may or may not happen in the future, so I'm sorry to hear what you're going through - and I totally feel for you!

From what I've learned, a lot of my history of polycystic ov's, fibroids, endo, enlarged uterus, emotional cycles from hell etc. is all highly reactive to (if not caused by) my higher than normal estrogen levels, and just because I'm now ute-free doesn't really solve that mystery. SO - my work is cut out for me to lower the overall est. so I can have a normal life post-op as well. Ugh! No easy deal, that! Will be trying to do as much as I can to balance out est. w/ diet and DIM, but we'll see!

Hang in there, and let us know how it goes!~

Re: Is this normal?

I kept my ovaries and am very sensitive lately. My surgery was Nov. 17th and I've had 2 or 3 days of feeling just so sad and miserable. Sometimes I get weepy but for the most part, I think that's normal.

I started eating better and going for short walks and that seems to have helped it a lot. I used to exercise before my surgery and that really helped my moods. I stopped obviously and now I'm just walking, but it is helping.
