LAVH: Sleeping positions

I have very troubled sleeping when I sleep on my back, and I was wondering, since I don't like sleeping on my side either, if it's ok to sleep on my stomach? Maybe with a pillow?

with an adominal incision - not sure if on your stomach will be possible right away... I did start sleeping on my side - as soon as I got home - 3rd day. I didn't need one - but I have heard that a little pillow support for your belly and between your knees (since you are also vaginally) helped others side sleep...

I had the LAVH and wouldn't plan on sleeping on your stomach. With the gas and discomfort, the pain is increased with pressure on that area. I did sleep after a few days with a pillow and somewhat on my side but not quite on the stomach.

I was always a side sleeper & was not crazy about sleeping on my back. I had the leg cuffs on overnight & my head was elevated a bit as well as my feet & between the meds I was on & exhaustion from worry, I slept fine. I used a pillow for my stomach & a therma care heat wrap for my shoulder & stomach.
