8 days post op and started running a fever
Hello my sisters, I was talking in a thread earlier about being light headed today, well wouldn't you know it I started running a fever around 5:30, I called the doctor and I have no symptoms of nothing! Incision is fine, no coughing, no pain of any type. I am so aggravated!! This was the first day that I actually felt really good. Has anyone else experienced this? Or any suggestions?
Thanks to all!!
Jenn

8 days post op and started running a fever
I've noticed that some of the sisters had fevers in the afternoon and then they went away. They said they were like that for a while.

Always something to look forward to I thought maybe it was from being off of the lortabs, but I don't know. I'm still light headed, and I've done everything, ( other than eating a big steak!)
Thanks,
Jenn

8 days post op and started running a fever
I had one yesterday jennilyn. Got to the Dr's office and it was normal ...got home and it was 100.4. I only took one of my antibiotic's because they had me itching bad. I refuse to take it again it was a sulfa based medicine. Told Dr this yesterday he acted like he didn't give a squat. I felt like I had the flu. my whole body hurt. I had an UTI I've had them before and it felt nothing like this. Woke up this morning felt fine.

Yes it is one of the side effects of opiates they can give you a fever once you stop taking them.

I am NOT trying to diagnose anybody, but I wanted to tell y'all about something I learned about: Circadian Rhythm
It's basically the cyclical rhythm of the body and for some strange reason, our temperatures are always slightly higher in the evenings than they are in the mornings. That's kind of why when we're sick, we run a higher fever in the evenings making us feel worse than we do when we first wake in the morning. BUT I would definitely keep an eye on it and call your doctor again if you have to, just to make sure that all is well. IF your doctor prescribed you motrin/ibuprofen, and you haven't taken it too recently, it could help bring your temperature down until you can actually see your doctor.

A nurse in myGYN's office tried to tell me yesterday that ibuprofen will not bring a fever down. I just looked at her. I thought in my head is she stupid!!! She obviously did not pay attention in class...LOL

Iboprufen addresses inflammation, not fever. If fever comes down it is a consequence of reduced inflammation. You might be getting a cold or a virus, or drug reduction or circadian rythm.

So does acetaminophen reduce fever, or are they both reducing fevers from reduction of inflammation? Dangit, healthcare is always so confusing! Thank you so much for the info!
