LAVH: Cramping before my hysterectomy (2/17) PMS worry

Please tell me they will still go through with the procedure if I start my period.
I am ready to be done with these FOREVER!

i was worried about that too. My Doctor said they would still go through with it, if that happened. Best of Luck!! Mine was a week ago, and feeling prettty good!!!

I have seen many people post about this and have yet to hear of somebody saying it was canceled. Somehow our uterus must know, have a mind of its own, and say, "I'll get her just one last time." Wicked little things (sometimes not so little).

Many women have surgery due to excessive bleeding so doctors generally do not cancel surgery over that.

Other women have posted that they were given a mesh with a pad and then a new one was given after surgery.

Yep, it has kicked in one last time.
The only thing that is excessive is the pain.
I'm gonna cuddle up with my two little dogs and watch videos and nap all day, and do my best not to stress about it.
On the up side, my friend had given me "period panties" by Harebraineddesign a few months back.
They are silly (and absorbent just in case). One is "Crampus" for the holidays and another is the twins from The Shining ..remember the hallway of blood? lol Oh silly things I get to wear one last time!!

I was definitely getting mine before surgery a week ago. I started cramping big time the night before and because I was nil by mouth I didn't think I could have pain killers. That combined with nerves was a loooong night.

I told my surgeon pre op and her response was "Well lets get this thing out of you then"

They gave me my pre op cocktail, knocked me out and when I woke up ahhh instant relief. No more period pain wahoo!!
