bladder sling questions

Ok y'all, here goes....
Sept 9 I had my hysto and bladder sling. It seems the ONLY pain I have is when I try to urinate. I cannot apply pressure, I just have to let it "roll" out and the pain is incredible. I see my urologist Thursday but am curious if anybody else had any trouble. Am i expecting too much too soon?

Yes!!!!!!! Detrol LA (envision the commercial, "gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now"). It's helped me a lot. I've been told that the ligaments that hold up the uterus also hold up the bladder, and that the spasms are essentially the nerve endings trying to "figure" out the new configuration... I'm 4 weeks post op. I dread going to the bathroom!!! I initally was treated for 2 weeks for a UTI. But, I didn't have a UTI. My bladder just freaked out. I've been told it isn't likely permanent... Thank God. It's almost worse than the symptoms that led to my hysterectomy! Try the Detrol LA. Also, try abdominal "kegels". Basically, just gently tighten your abdomen, over and over. It's seemed to help, and came from advice from my OB/GYN. Good luck!
