dVH/RALH Numb hand for 2 days after hysterectomy

Just wanted to let others know that this can happen. My right hand was totally numb for two full days after surgery. I mentioned it to my doctor, and she said it was probably the result of surgical positioning. I am lucky to be ambidextrous, as I couldn't do anything with it the day of surgery, and very little the day after. You can't imagine how happy I was when it was finally back to normal yesterday!

I'm happy to hear you got all feeling back. I have had that before when I've slept on my arm during the night. It's not fun. Thankfully it only lasted a minute or so.

If they placed an arterial IV in that hand, that can also do that. Freaky!
If it was positioning it would likely be a part of the hand rather than the whole hand.
