Endometriosis or tubal clip pain? Full hysterectomy scheduled

Hi everyone. I'm new. long story short....I had my appendix removed back in 2006, endometriosis was found. 3 years later I had a lap to remove it. I was good until about a year ago. My youngest is almost 2, I had a tubal the day I had )0her, and when I got my first period after weaning her 12 months later, it was SO painful. I've been dealing with this horrid pain only on my right side for the last year. My doctor has suggested birth control, but it's $200 every 3 months and I've already had the tubal. Doc suggests a full hysterectomy and I will be a better version of myself. So I got to thinking, what if this pain isn't endometriosis? What if it is the clip (only my right side was clipped in the tubal) that is giving me all this pain during my periods and almost daily? My husband is very supportive, but is very scared that I will have worse mood swings after this surgery. I'm starting to be a nervous wreck and second guessing my decision to go ahead with this surgery. Any advice is very much appreciated!!!

Hi Mhafley to HysterSisters!

I am so glad you found this site.

Having a hysterectomy is a decision that should be considered very carefully. It is MAJOR SURGERY, and does have its consequences. Those have to be balanced with your current condition, and whether the surgery will help.

Be aware that a hysterectomy does not cure endo, you have to have an expert remove the disease. Here is an article on this: Can Endometriosis Return after a Hysterectomy?

You may want to get other opinions on your condition, the cause of the pain, and to see what other options you may have. As always make the decision that is right for you.

I know this is hard, but remember that you are not alone.
