needing a little support

Hi, I am about to have a tah and I am feeling very anxious. I have been living with endo. for about 11 years and I can't take it anymore. I have pain everyday. I live in sc and all of my family is in ga. I have my husband and my 13 year old daughter but they dont seem to understand how important this is to me. I would like to know what to expect when I come home from the hospital. Also I have low blood pressure that causes me to pass out if it goes to low, I was wondering if anyone knows how this will effect my recovery. I have about two weeks before my surgery and it is beginning to feel like a lifetime. My doctor is trying to get me in asap, we just have to wait for the ok from the ins. company. My husband and daughter say that I wont have to worry about anything but I have always been the one to take care of them I dont know if I will be able to resist being the caregiver for six weeks. I had a laperscopy and dnc three years ago, how does a tah compare?
Thanks to anyone who responds!

needing a little support

Hey klb,
I suffered for years I just didn't know what was wrong with me until Jan 2005. It didn't take me long to decide what to do. I have been with my husband for 20 years. We have two boys 11 & 13. My husband had a vas about 8 years ago so we knew that we weren't going to have anymore kids. I still had dreams about having another baby after I had made the decision, even thought the thought hadn't crossed by mind in years.
I used to work but be came a stay at home mom about 5 years ago. My family depends on me a lot and I pretty much do everything. They were prepared on what to expect and wanted me to recover well. They really stepped up to the plate. My husband did all of the laundry, which he hadn't done in about 15 years. My boys did the floors and dishes etc. You just have to deal with the fact that things might not be done as well as you would do them.
I'm sure if you talk to them they will understand and help out. A few times I hurt myself my doing things I shouldn't have been. JUst because I am not good at sitting around. FInd things to do so you don't get bored and relax.
I'm sure that you will make the decision that is right for you. We shouldn't have to suffer.

Hey, I'm 35 too. Had TAH 15 weeks ago now (gosh, it seems like a long time ago!)

I didn't have any complications, so I felt like my recovery was very manageable. There was a little pain, but again, very controllable with ibuprofen. I was stiff and sore for a few weeks, tired, rested a lot, took naps, watched TV, and dressed only in comfy PJs, but at about the 4 week mark, I really started feeling pretty good.

The other day, I counted up how many periods I had "missed" since the hyster. When I told my husband I was four months "late" we both broke out into laughter.

I'm happy to report that I'm feeling fine and back to normal!
