Stitches coming out?

Twice when I've had some bleeding I've had a curly thread on my pad that has kind of freaked me out. It's been five weeks since my hysterectomy/A&P repairs. Has anyone else had this?

Re: Stitches coming out?

My doctor said it is completely normal to have the stitches inside of you come out on your pad. It means you are healing and your body no longer needs them! YAY!!!!!

Re: Stitches coming out?

My stitches have not yet started to come out. I asked my Dr. about it and he said about 5 -6 weeks they will start to come out. He said that I would wonder what the heck was going on, but that it was all perfectly normal.

Re: Stitches coming out?

I noticed my stitches coming out a few here and there in the shower and also after going to the restroom. Some with external bleeding . It is kind of a frightning moment to say the least! But a progression towards healing.
