It's just my husband and me, but we have been using paper plates, plastic cups, and plastic "silverware" since January 9th.

My husband was a bachelor for many years, so the mess doesn't bother him, but after so long, it bothers ME. The other day, I announced that I was going to call the Merry Maids. (That was unfair; I should have approached it in a different way.) He jumped into action asking what needed to be done.

It really improved my mood A LOT to have the kitchen floor clean and know that at least one load of laundry was being washed.

At 10 days post-op I tried to load the dishwasher and felt my first "pull" with pain. Since then, he and I both realize there are many things I cannot do.

Hope you can have some good communication and cooperation. Be careful not to undo what your body is working 24/7 at doing - healing.
