The Lack of everything
I expected my world to change but only for the better....the first five days I was in heaven with Mom to take care of me my kids had my brothers being spoiled and hubby seemed to get it.....then came day 6 and 7 Mom has went back home the kids are back and hubby is at work....I haven't had a BM in a while (just once since surgery but not enough for relief) nothing seems to works ...both kids are doing well although they are 6 and 11 and get I don't feel well so they are doing their computer work today...I must check for their grades later...my in laws have hurt my feelings to no end and they all live on the same road I do I didn't hear from any of them until yesterday and my MIL send a text saying I needed to hurry up and get well because my hubby still needs me to do the paper work at the shop..then said to quit wimpin out...I was beyond angry and simply responded with "when you have all of you female organs ripped from your crotch call me" I don't understand people at all...my father in law who has a different wife drives by our house everyday and has yet to stop by....I need to let my hurt go and move forward...my hubby seems to be trying to cant quite comprehend my pain because he doesn't see an incision it bothers me ..I have never faked anything why would I know....I need a pillow and good cry if it didn't hurt so bad

Re: The Lack of everything
Oh gosh I can't imagine. I had a TAH on aug 30th. Hubby is doing everything and anything. I don't have any young children at home. I am still taking it easy as you should be too. You have to listen to your body and take care of yourself. I have had comments made to me by other people like get up and moving around you can't just sit around and do nothing. That bothered me too like they know. I have huge incision, had all parts taken out and now dealing with swelling and soreness in vagina from the cuff. Dr did say hang in there walk some but keep feet elevated and come week 4 It will all be up hill. I sure hope so

Re: The Lack of everything
I am sorry that you are not feeling well. I cannot believe what your MIL said. Some MIL's can be so insensitive. Hope you feel better soon!

The Lack of everything
I am in the same boat as you as far as a young mom with kids, hubby working and not getting why I am not 100% yet and a tough MIL! What I do is surround myself with loving friends that are helping out, and ignore everyone else who isn't supportive. As far as my husband, I am trying to give him grace in understanding it's hard for him too. I also went on a breakfast date with him this morning which really helped us enjoy each others company and not talk about the surgery. Wishing you the best with everything

Re: The Lack of everything
I had a hyst in Nov 2010, and my youngest was only 6 months old. I came home after 4 days in hospital (I actually hemorrhaged and then almost passed out so they had to keep me) and I came home the next day, was ok, day two at home not so great. I started hemorrhaging again, my husband freaked out and called my FIL and he drove to CO all the way from TN. Not a lot of help but at least he was there for support. After about 2wks my husband thought I should be better but it took me almost 3 months to completely healed. I wish you the best of luck, and pls for your own sake, ignore the MIL that has nothing nice to say. She's only being that way because she's not happy. As for your husband, he's not the only one. THey just don't understand what we go through and since they can't see what's causing the pain, they don't get it. Hugs to you

Re: The Lack of everything
I' m really not liking your MIL. Insane.
Similar boat here: 6 weeks post op- single mom to 1st grader, no family in town, and I am estranged from both my mother and father.
I had to go back to work full time 2 weeks post op, because it was the new semester and the university I work for does not pay for FMLA leave.
going back to work has put me on a slow and very tough trajectory. I am still in pain every day and I am swollen like stupid santa clause. Ugh! We have to believe in the future, that maybe a year from now it will be all better.
