Third Day

Third day home, had the surgery on Friday. I am feeling pretty good. My mom is here and my husband is here being my warden LOL. Everytime I get up to go to the bathroom my Warden tells me to go back to bed. I love him and he is trying, it is cute.
My only problem I am having, is because my body has so little pain, I feel like I need to be up doing things. I am the caregiver, I take care of everyone and everything. Even in the hospital, I was apologizing to the nurse and CNA cause I asked for some water. I could not help it. I am trying not to do anything, as I am not allowed to anyway. I am just having a hard time letting everyone do things for me.
Does this get better??? I feel so lazy...I hate that feeling.

Re: Third Day

I feel your pain! I had my surgery on Thursday and I am in a little pain but for the most part pretty good considering a TAH. My hubby is the greatest as are all my friends. I feel a little lazy doing nothing, but I think I should enjoy this time because I believe that I could send myself into a relapse otherwise.

Enjoy the Warden and the relaxation.

Re: Third Day

You are so much like me! It's hard to sit, isn't it!! As you feel better, do a little, but please listen to your body and your warden and stop after you've done a little. There were a few days when I felt really well, did too much and then spent the next 2 days in bed! So be careful, and try to enjoy being waited on!

Re: Third Day

I have trouble sitting still too! But remember your body needs to rest to heal. And you have a wonderful hubby who wants to wait on you. Take advantage of the break!

Re: Third Day

Trust me the minute you do start doing stuff you will feel really bad, so two weeks stay in bed/sofa, drink loads of water and say Thank you that would be lovely everytime someone offers to do something / anything

Re: Third Day

And also once the painkillers completely wear off and you start getting feeling back, you will be in a little more discomfort. Which makes it a lot easier to sit back and do nothing.

I understand how you feel though, I am at 2 weeks post-op tomorrow and I am bored, bored, bored!
