Incision open after a total abdominal hysterectomy (tah)

Ok so they removed my staples today and my cut opened I am a little worried has this happened to anyone? Anyone with experience let me know

How long was the staples in for before removal? Apply some steri strips and keep in clean and dry. Mine also looked it had opened but it actually wasn't. Take care!

The nurse took out my staples at one week,and put steri strips on it . I would call the Dr.

The dr seen it split when the staples were taken out they are calling a home health nurse to change the bandages

Two spots opened after. At the top and at the bottom. They put steri strips in but I was allergic to them. So the one on the top I just washed and kept it covered until a scab formed.. Tiger bottom, I just dealt with the burning..

Hi there, when they took out my staples they removed alternate ones and left the rest in for a few days more and then removed the rest. I felt a little tear but the nurse said it was only the top layer of skin and that there were internal stitches below so I wouldn't fall apart. They put steri strips on me and I had them replaced after a couple of weeks and new steri strips put on until I was 6 weeks. I wore the Hystersisters binders until I was about 10-12 weeks for extra support. Yes when they took out the staples and I walked I felt like I was tearing apart but I wasn't, that lasted for a couple of days and I felt the same when the steri strips came off. i still get from time to time like a tearing feeling around my incision but I'm not. Hope eventually this feeling will be gone completely.I keep it moisturized.
