uterine polyups, fibroids, almost anemic, SEX?

Help, scheduled for Friday, then surgeon calls and cancells, then puts it back on for friday again...I'm so uneasy now. Don't trust now. I have had polyups, were removed, but have a feeling that they are back, fibrods, oh yeah, and my iron and reserves are low, too much bleeding during menses. Yes, I'm almost 50 and still getting periods...ugh. I want to continue to have orgasms, whenever we do have sex, but yeech. I don't know whether or not I want to do any of this now.

Hi There!

OK......Deeeeeeep breath.

Sounds like you have a lot on your emotional plate, and I can certainly understand that.

This is a huge decision, and it's not too late to decide not to have surgery if you are not 100% sure; in fact, you owe it to yourself to "stop the presses" if you have doubt.

About orgasms, I know there have been cases where some report they don't have them anymore after surgery, but I believe the majority still do. It's a mistake to assume anything like that just because others have experienced it. We're all different.

It does sound like it might be time to get out your PROs and CONs list and determine what is really right for you.

Sending big s your way!

Toonces is right -- if you really aren't sure then it isn't too late to cancel and have another think through. You can always reschedule later if you think that is what you should do - but you can't undo the surgery.

I can appreciate you have questions and doubts, that is not only normal, but REASONABLE!
There are a lot of "who knows how it will end" questions - and unfortunately no one can tell you ahead of time that "it will be fine" -- because it is always possible that you could run into some difficulties after surgery -- or then again, you may be perfectly fine.

one thing to consider with regards to orgasms it to understand "how" yours happens.

Some women have a lot of uterine contractions when they orgasm, and if that is your case then you will obviously no longer have that after a hyst. -- it doesn't mean you won't enjoy sex, but you may well feel that your climax is a lot less intense.
other women achieve their orgasm through clitoral stimulation and that should not change with surgery.

best wishes for resolution of what is really the right solution for you.
