Any trouble stepping into a bathtub after hysterectomy?
I just read a post regarding showering and was now wondering about stepping up and into a bathtub.
We have only a clawfoot bathtub to shower in and because of the tall sides I'm wondering if this will be too difficult? All these things to think about!?!
Thank you ladies for any advice,

Re: Any trouble stepping into a bathtub?
Actually, yeah. I haven't seen it mention much here, but the first week it has been hard for me to raise my feet high because it kinda causes like a ab ''crunch'' and that hurt. I also couldn't reach my feet for a few days so hubby had to help me put on pants (once they were on it was fine, just getting them over feet, i could pull them down to knees to pee by myself) and I couldn't do my socks at all.
Strangely, I also found it hurt when my hands were over my head, like when brushing my hair. Maybe that uses tummy muscles too, idk?
I am 6 days out today and I can say the first 5 I had trouble with those things and was glad to have the help. I probably could have managed if I HAD to, but it did hurt more.
Oh yes, I just remembered. Def have someone there for your first home shower, even if there not in the room with you, I got really dizzy my first shower and without hubby being in there I probably would have fell. It might not be a problem for you, but have someone in the house just in case

Re: Any trouble stepping into a bathtub?
I needed help the first two weeks. We put a small stool in front of the tub. I stepped on it and then he held my arm to get in. Same thing getting out. I also had a seat to sit and have a shower so that I wouldn't fall.

I did okay stepping into my tub for a shower, but DH was there to lend a helping hand and to steady me, and I took it VERY SLOWLY.
Get someone to help steady you, and a step stool is a great idea. You do not want to slip and fall after surgery.

Re: Any trouble stepping into a bathtub after hysterectomy?
My tub sits very high off the floor, it's kind is odd really.
DH was there with me to help me get in and out. I am 3 weeks out today and one incision still hurts (more of a pulling from the inside) if I am not careful getting in and out.
I never thought about this before surgery, I'm glad to see you are covering all bases!
