Anxiety!!

I am 3 weeks out with my Hysterectomy. Every day my anxiety seems to get worse. I am crying all the time and just scared to death that my whole life is going to fall apart. I feel like I am slowly going crazy. Started hormone therapy yesterday. Hoping it will help.

Re: Anxiety!!!!!!

So sorry that you are experiencing this... I tend to be more anxious by nature and I have found that deep breathing daily helps.... I sit and breathe about 10 minutes per day. It may not cure it but it may decrease it...

Re: Anxiety!!!!!!

I have suffered from PTSD for a LONG time. One of the things my therapist has worked with me on is controlling my breathing, as the post before me says...breathing helps. Panic, and anxiety usually comes because of an imbalance of some sort in your brain that is triggering a fight of flight response. In order to counter act that imbalance you need to fill your blood with oxygen which means slowing your breathing way down so that you are letting more oxygen have time to get in your blood with each breath. The easiest way to do this is if you start to feel anxious lay flat on your back on the floor, close your eyes and breath very slowly in and out through your nose if possible. You will probably feel as if your arms and legs are sinking into the floor..thats just your body relaxing...go with it.

Re: Anxiety!!!!!!

Awesome advice from our sisters Yes anxiety can be triggered by hormones among other things. See your Dr about hrt and trying relaxing or meditation like breathing techniques along with remembering our own negative thoughts make it worse :/ try to repeat positive phrases to yourself instead of negative. Like my poor body is working so hard to recover i should give it all the rest and comfort it needs to heal instead if telling yourself everythings falling apart remind yourself this to shall pass and think of positive things or places I hope this helped And you feel better sending Big Hugs for all my Hystersisters! So please wrap your arms around yourself tight and give yourself that hug it really works try it and see

Re: Anxiety!!!!!!

Wow! So nice to see! Some of the other advice on here! I personally started doing crafts, like elbows deep into it. As I started to have panic attacks, anxiety, & full blown depression. Plus sought out professional help. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one! Warm thoughts to you & hugs!
