Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Feb 19, 2017

Good Morning!
I'm 5 days away from my surgery and I am nervous, anxious, and sad. The hysterectomy is not my choice but due to circumstances it's the best option. I will try to be positive and not a downer. I pray all goes well for all who are undergoing this procedure this week. I am curious if anyone has extreme hunger with their Fibroids, thinning hair and vaginal odor? I have never had problems with thinning hair and vagi odor. My weight up and down but the hunger is bad now. I've been checked for anything that can cause all of this and nothing comes back of concern.

Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Feb 19, 2017

I'm having surgery Monday. They are taking my ovaries and uterus. I won't be able to have hormones afterward due to my past history with pulmonary embolisms. Wishing I didn't need this! I have cysts on my ovaries that have caused me pain for some time. I'm a worrier and internet research hasn't helped!!

I'm having surgery Friday the 24th. I'm sick from anxiety, I don't want to deal with this as it can't be done laparoscopically due to massive fibroids. I also have PCOS which is a whole other issue. Does anyone else have to do GI prep??? I'm dreading that the most!

Yes, I have the prep stuff to drink for my upcoming procedure Feb 20. I had a colonoscopy feb 6 so I get to drink this nonsense all over again. You're not alone!

Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Feb 19, 2017

Monday Feb 20,2017
Hopefully laparoscopic "da cinvi@ procedure, but of course it will be further determined once the operation starts. I opted to keep my ovaries. I'm 39 and never had kids so I am somewhat sad, but because of the problems I have with monthly pain and history of fibroids it is the best option. In 2010 I had the bikini cut to remove grapefruit-sized uterine fibroids. That survey was June 2010 and I was in pain until December 2010. I'm hoping that tomorrow I don't have to get he full cut and that small incisions can. E made instead for hopefully a quick recovery time. I'm terrified!

Re: Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Feb 19, 2017

Hi,
My surgery is scheduled for Feb.22nd. The procedure is to remove uterus, cervix and fallopian tubes. I'm a bit afraid, but not hardly. I have been Youtubing information that has probably been the reason for my worries. A few women mention how they are prepared for a certain surgery and leave the hospital with half their stomach incision. This kinda stuff makes me worry. Perhaps, not the brightest thing to research. But I would like to know in advance what I may be facing.

Thanks
Mary

Re: Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Feb 19, 2017

I am scheduled for surgery on the 21st. Im nervous, I have had two previous surgeries, one laser one with a bikini cut to remove fibroids and endometriosis. My last two sonograms showed growth from one year to the next and my uterus is enlarged. So, this is the best option. I am 48, never had children, so that makes me sad. Like the rest of you, my anxiety is of the unknown, being fully knocked out, what will happen and how i will feel afterwards. My boyfriend is very supportive and so is my family, but that anxiety is always here. Tomorrow i have to do bowl prep, which i think will be an "interesting ride" to say the least. Prayers and hugs to all my Hystersisters, Lets keep chatting, we will get thru this.
