Post-Endometral Ablation Question

I didn't end up having this done but when my Dr. & I were thinking of going this route, she said I could still have a discharge for up to 6 weeks.

Post-Endometral Ablation Question

I had this done last Fall in a last ditch effort to avoid the hysterectomy... and afterward, I spotted for several weeks. I finally had a period and then, I didn't have anything but maybe a couple of spots each month for FOUR glorious months... I did, however, have some cramping... Sadly, right after the first of the year, I started bleeding and haven't stopped since. We knew going in that this may very well be my end result... Best wishes, you'll feel better soon...

Post-Endometral Ablation Question

Hi Keldriv

I had a different type of ablation (rollerball), but as mentioned, the watery discharge can last a long time. I think it was at least 6 weeks before I could go without a pantyliner. Whenever I'd get a little discouraged, I just had to remind myself how it was better than the way I had been ... flooding through double protection.

My anemia improved, so I didn't have any increase in fatigue. I am sorry that you are, though. I hope it resolves soon.

Hang in there. There's no way to rush the healing process.

Gentle s

Post-Endometral Ablation Question

i had one done feb 07, and it lasted about 6 weeks off and on, my first couple periods after that were WONDERFUL, then about 7 mkonths out, they got bad again.
My Doc told me the younger you are the less effective it might be (i dont want to sound discouraging)

Post-Endometral Ablation Question

Hi ladies,
I know that most of you said that it lasted on and off. Mine is nonstop. I have been spotting everyday for 3 weeks. I wish it would stop. I have been bleeding now for eight months, counting before and after the EA.

Post-Endometral Ablation Question

Mine was constant. The destroyed lining sort of does some sloughing and some "weeping" as it progresses through the stages. Mine did different color changes throughout the 6 weeks also. It doesn't sound like you are experiencing anything abnormal, but call your GYN if you feel like this isn't what s/he told you to expect. In the meantime, do something special for yourself. You deserve some pampering.

Post-Endometral Ablation Question

I had mine done 15 years ago (when I was 32) and I remember I had spotting and abdominal pain for about 6 weeks. I was surprised how painful it was afterwards! (I had the burning of the uterine lining kind of EA).

For about 10 years it was ggreat and I had no spotting. Then spotting came back. Now I have super-sized fibroids (I thought EA would have taken care of that but no such luck). I now have to have a hysterectormy and at 47 I am ready for it. I hate being in pain and I can't exercise like I used to.

Good luck, you'll definitely be better in a few weeks.
